It’s hard to choose as we have so many gorgeous coats in store, but we hope these five give you an idea of what’s on offer.

1. The Gloverall Duffle Coat

Duffle Coats balance the warmth of wool with an iconic British style. We’ve sold the Gloverall Original Duffle Coat for several years because as Duffle Coats go they’re the bees knees and have been made in Britain since 1951. Made from a rich blend of Italian wool it’s a luxurious autumn/winter essential. Available this year in four colours, cranberry, camel, grey and navy it’s a mid-length coat so is very flexible for many different outfits.

2. Magee

For something smarter we have the Magee coat available in Donegal Tweed Herringbone and a Green and Lilac Country Check. Originally handwoven by Magee since 1866, the timeless designs use the finest yarns of lambswool, mohair and cashmere. Our customers love the soft feel of the fabric, the flattering fit and fantastic detail of these coats. They’re great for a smart occasion but of course they also look great with a white shirt and a pair of jeans. 3. Barbour Kelsall Waxed Parka Jacket

An absolute bestseller this season has been the Barbour Kelsall Parka – available in black and olive. It’s a classic parka cut with an interior drawstring at the waist to give a feminine shape. Bang on trend this season it looks great over a chunky knit jumper, jeans and boots. And with Barbour's signature lightweight 6oz Sylkoil waxed cotton you’ll most definitely be warm and dry.

4. Ilse Jacobsen Softshell Raincoat

Our dog walkers love this coat but so do our shoppers. When you’re out walking on a wet day you want to stay dry but you don’t want to steam up on the inside and that’s what the innovative Ilse Jacobsen soft shell fabric allows – you can move freely in the rain with no sweat. We won’t bore you with Teflon Nanotechnology membranes but trust us, it’s water repellent and really comfortable. This latest style has proved popular because of its added glam factor with the detachable faux fur collar. Available in Forest and Indigo it’s a great addition to our Ilse Jacobsen range.

5. Schoffel Mayfair Down Jacket

We couldn’t have a top 5 without including this thing of beauty. This coat just makes you feel good as soon as you put it on and therefore you look good. Perfect for country or town the flattering fit means you stay warm and dry without looking like the Michelin Man. And just a tiny detail that everyone loves when they try it on – the Merino ribbed neck and cuffs, no drafts will be getting up your sleeves in this coat.
